Spooky Literature
Hey gang. The first part of my spooky literature should be ready tomorrow or Saturday. It's just some character and back ground introductions. Should I post it here? I would welcome any comments on the story when it appears

Please share, I'd love to see. I'm an aspiring author too, and love seeing other people's work.

RE: Spooky Literature
Well, here is the first bit. Not much but a start:
November had come and gone, the weather was crap. Rain poured down from the grey lead like skies which felt as though they were only just above your head. His first day at work was going to be a damp one. Late rising he had no time for his breakfast just a quick wash and brush up as he rushed into his clothes then got into his car and rushed off to a brand new job. He couldn’t believe his luck starting a new job at the age of 53. His name was Damian he stood just over 6 feet tall at about 15 stone. He had a bush of blonde hair at the top of his head and spoke with a soft, but yet broad Scouse Liverpool accent. He was known for being a bit of a joker. Since being a kid he had always been somewhat of a loner but now with this gift he had people somehow started warming towards him. She was about the same age as him. Quite petit in size but you knew when she was around. Doris, was a Scottish lady and had a head of hair jet black in colour I think the style was called Page Boy, you know the one the kind the pop stars of the 1960’s such as Lulu would wear. Doris was a very motherly figure. She drove a sports car and ran the antiques house where Damian was heading for in his first day at work. The antiques house was reputedly haunted, hence Damian’s arrival – he was a medium and contracted to the house to fix the ghostly goings on. The had previously met when Doris’ late husband had passed away. She went to see Damian privately about three years ago now. As she was a believer in the after life, she was hoping for some comfort from the reading Damian gave her. We’ll see what happened with that as the plot unfolds. The reading was at Damian’s home as obviously there would be too many clues around for him if it were at Doris’ © chubbyspirit November 2009 Not to be copied in anyway shape or form without consent of the owner (me) |

Chubbyspirit - Thanks for sharing your writing. I thought it was a really good open, and very well written! Do you know exactly where the story is going what what is happening?
I am currently writing, too. A horror story called The Ward.

RE: Spooky Literature
Any chance of a sneak peak Fiona?? The title alone gives me the creeps "The Ward" Is it about a hospital? They're great places for hauntings, if you think of the amount of people who die each year in hospitals, there's no bette place to find a ghost or two!

RE: Spooky Literature
I might give a little paragraph or two, but not just yet, I always get scared showing people lol. I suppose that's stupid, as I want to send it off to a publisher at some point.
"The Ward" is a story about a man who is placed in a Psychiatric unit, he is labelled as insane due to a crime he commits, but as the story unfolds, we see his involvement in witchcraft and the supernatural is involved, and the reader is left to wonder whether is insane or whether he is telling the truth!
