Angel - I WAS a fan of MH why? because they USED to have a balanced approach to what was being broadcast - they tried different experiments such as the Tesla machine to see if these inventions could, in today's technological world get a response from spirit.

I'll be honest the day when I became a WAS fan was when Karl did that stunt of a mock hanging - now before it happened Paul Ross did tell us, so I turned over as I found my former partner hanging, yet once the mock hanging was over and I could see Karl was safe... it was a "best bit" so I DID see the mock hanging after all..... Naturally I complained to Living TV and Antix and neither bothered to even acknowledge my correspondence - now for me I find that rude... (and that's polite)

The team continually scream and talk over audible phenomena which the viewer who has a GENUINE interest in the paranormal cannot hear, the REAL fan of PARANORMAL activity have suggested that more locked off cameras in all 4 corners of a room they are investigating has been ignored and we still have the hand held camera showing somebody's facial expressions - and NOT the alleged phenomena...

Therefore I WILL watch the historical part of the show and the walk around as I am interested in history and older buildings, however the way they conduct their investigation is NOT what you would experience on a properly organised paranormal investigation with a team who concentrate on their favoured base - scientific / psychic ability / mixture of both....

I feel it is a shame that you have to justify your comments OI and it must have been difficult to share your experiences. I for one will continue to watch the parts I enjoy and will be critical where I feel they deserve it.
I suppose I have to thank them for giving me the interest to go out and do it myself but like you OI I know a correctly run investigation would not be held the way do it and that is why i only tend to watch the history parts and take the rest with a pinch of salt.
I will be out tonight and will miss Carlisle Prison which is a shame because as a building it would be nice to see what possibilities it could have but I suppose I will catch up from the comments on here.

I'll be totally honest here and say that I haven't watched any of the new episodes (partially as I didn't even know they were on!).
I watched the programme religiously from the first episode and even my partner (who is a hardcore sceptic) used to watch it with interest. Then came Derek getting posessed nearly every week and the missus switched off saying it was fake. I continued to watch the show as they caught some good phenomena (the rolling beer keg being one). Then we had the 8 night lives and it was all about evil... I continued to watch becoming more and more annoyed with the fact that they swapped one screaming make up lady for another, treated the mediums like scally's and swore so much that you couldn't hear anything.

I have been on many investigations with people I trust implicitly, who are highly professional and approach the field with the utmost seriousness and respect. There are no mock hangings, no standing in stone circles uttering curses and definitely no screaming (unless you count the time a bat divebombed a team member!). What members are saying is bitching is not. It is people with a genuine love for the paranormal field expressing their opinions/concerns about a programme that we have watched from the first lose it's credibility time and again because of certain crew members wanting their 15 minutes.

Things aren't going to change, they will still search for evil entities and people will still watch. As for me it seems the boat has sailed. I will not be watching MH except the old school dvd's. If that makes me a whiny bitch then fine, every one of us is entitled to their opinion. I am reminded though of a famous quote by Friedrich Nietzsche: "When you stare into the abyss the abyss stares back at you."

Perhaps that is something Yvette should think about.......

well...im just waiting for the next live before i can make a propper comment. hopefully the 'powers that are karl' will have listened and taken onboard t fans points...doubt it...but one can hope.

as for this series...its pants.

I apologise if my previous comment came across as being rude. I was not in any way attacking peoples opinions or believes. Its just that on that night I had read a few posts by a member (I'm not going to say who as I don't want to start an arguement or personally attack them but I will say that it is no one who has responded to my post), who seemed to be totally anti MH and to my reading seemed to be that way from the start.

OMI I'm sorry if you though that I was aiming my post at you, and I'm sorry that you felt that you had to go into personal details to explain yourself. I find you to be totally honest in your opinions and I enjoy reading your posts!

I love this forum and enjoy my MH fix on it but it does bug me that there is a few people on here who just seem to be out to start arguements and will not appreciate anyone elses opinions.

No apology needed, MOST, people on here feel the same way as you, I love a good debate as much as the next member, just felt I needed to clarify my position somewhat. I was also having a bit of a bad day and that tends to cloud how I read posts.

I've a strange feeling it will be a while before you see another 'Live' event with this tainted team. Some would call me psychic, others will recognise I've heard something stronger than just a rumour.
