Got an Idea

I have had a lil idea for the forum.

Its nothing major or big, but i think it would be cool.

Would it be possible to get like a paranormal status bar next to our name that shows our belief status, i.e, Believer, Sceptic , Open-minded sceptic etc.

Just a thought really.

Just had quick look and it might be possible, however it won't be a bar but text.. i'd have to create a custom profile field then do some editing to get the status shown where it shows your name/avatar.

alright this is working now, to change your paranormal status go to user cp and click edit profile and go to where it says Additional Information or click this link http://www.mosthauntedforum.com/usercp.p...on=profile

I've only added 4 options
Unknown
Believer
Open-Minded Sceptic
Sceptic

I don't know if it matters (please forgive me), but as far as I'm aware, "skeptic" is spelt with a "k" instead of a "c".

I'll let you know if I can think of anymore status titles. Thanks for implementing that. It looks good.

EDIT: My apologies - I made a mistake there. It seems both spellings are used.

Ah! I see. Thank you, Zippy. I appreciate the link and I understand now.

I also learned that "Sceptic" comes from a Latin word, and "Skeptic" comes from a Greek word.

In the early 1800s, the Americans decided to standardise the pronunciation of English throughout the U.S. This involved changing the spelling of certain words and suffixes.

The 'c' in BE sceptic was changed to a 'k' because of words such as sceptre and science where the c is silent and this could be perceived as being confusing.

-ise became -ize et cetera

Back to the topic in hand: great idea, will we be able to get rid of User Title: and Paranormal Status: when everyone gets used to the idea?

Thank you, Nutty. And yeah, I'd personally prefer not to see "User Title" and "Paranormal Status". But I know it depends on what all of us think and I'm happy just to be a member.
