David Wells

Hi there all!

I have recently become a fan of Most Haunted and by far my favourite out of the crew members is David Wells as he seems so genuine and sweet. Although I am still skeptical of paranormal activity, particularly the amount that happens around the MH crew, when some people can live their entire lives with virtually nothing inexplicable happening to them, I understand that having a medium around can influence the amount of activity.

Anyway, I know I am going to get ripped to shreds by many of you for even mentioning this BUT am I the only one who thinks David Wells might be gay? (I have no idea whether or not he is and I myself am a lesbian so I am not at all homophobic, only pathetic people are homophobes!) lol it just occured to me as I watched the show more and more...

It may just be in my mind but thought I'd put the question out there anyway!

I love David Wells and think he seems like such a lovely bloke! Would love to meet him one day! :)

Welcome to MHF, Wells_Rulz!

One has to remember that the majority of the Team have been together since series 2 when Cath Howe replaced Marcelle Lipman as Yvette's Hair and Make-up artist. The Team not only film together but they also socialise together, so there is a great deal of energy between them - this could explain why there is the amount of phenomena experienced by the Team that is not experienced by those of the much younger paranormal shows.

As for David being gay that is a question only David can answer and because he's a private person, it's a matter about which we can only speculate. A few Astrologers and Mediums are gay and I think it helps, partcularly in Mediumship, when you are at one with your emotions, but David could be one of these straight guys who just come across as being a little camp.

I have to admit, though, that my Gaydar sort of went off the scale the first time I saw David on TV, but my Gaydar never was that reliable, lol!

Hehe, bless him he's so sweet. He's the kinda guy you want to give a big squeezy hug to lol anyway, i'm even creeping myself out now.

It annoys me when people say that MH is all faked, I'm sure some things may be exaggerated or possibly a few things faked for the sake of entertainment but what is the point of faking it all? You're just exploiting people then and that's unethical in so many ways.
I don't know how I feel about Derek Achorah either, I know he was proved to fake things when Ciaran O'Keeffe did those annograms. Plus the fact he got possessed on almost every episode, it got embarrassing, then just tiring. David is the main thing in the show (I am currently making my way through series 6) that makes it credible. He seems so genuine it's so hard to imagine he'd lie/cheat.

Excuse me for being behind the times, but, we here in Canada only get MH on very few channels, and we NEVER see MHL. What I would like to know is this, what happened to David Wells, why is this Brian Sheppard now on the team?

Welcome to MHF senile!

Sadly, David left the show at the end of Series 9 because he wanted, in his words, to concentrate on his book and his workshops.

Brian probably had more spare time to dedicate to the Show than many of the other Mediums.

HI again and tyvm for the warm welcome. It makes me so sad to think that we are going to be stuck with Brian Sheppard, ( ss to those who like him) he seems to be very dry and doesn`t seem to make the show go as smoothly as David did.
While I`m at it, what has happened to that sweet sound guy, can`t remember his name at the moment, cute, shoulder length hair?
It`s so sad that Canada has not gotten into Most Haunted as much as the UK, there are so many fans of the show over here, and we`re stuck with reruns most times....

Drat! I was just about to ask if you meant Jon Gilbert and then I noticed your edit. Jon left the show part way through series 9, but I'm not sure why.

You might like to try YouTube and search Most Haunted as the majority of episodes/Lives are posted there to watch.

Oh i loved John Gilbert! was so sweet faced.
Yeah you should get the lives on you tube. thats how i managed to get to see the proper *scratched head, thinking of location* Pendle hill lives. Whats on the Live DVD is different... more of a documentary of what happened. (yeah i havent quite woken up yet...)
